About the role

Availability Window

Days and times you need to be available:

• Sun: 09:00 - 19:00
• Mon: 09:00 - 19:00
• Fri: 09:00 - 19:00
• Sat: 09:00 - 19:00

Our Customer Delivery Driver rate of pay starts from £13.35 an hour; this increases to £14.56 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.

We guarantee a minimum of 16 hours per week for new colleagues, with options for fewer hours (minimum 12). We support flexible scheduling within the advertised availability windows, with 3 weeks' notice of shifts.

Customers are at the heart of everything we do. As the face of Tesco on the road, you will deliver from Lands' End to John O'Groats, meeting and helping customers in their homes. This role involves more than just driving: it’s about providing excellent service with a smile.

This position is hands-on, physical, and varied. No two shifts are the same, and you will have support from managers and colleagues back at base.

Responsibilities

• Delivering customer orders, ensuring vans and trays are clean and organized.
• Maintaining cleanliness and tidiness of the delivery area.
• Loading the van and checking its roadworthiness.
• Communicating with customers about order changes, substitutions, and refunds.
• Handling products carefully and delivering within the scheduled time slots.
• Calling customers before early arrivals and notifying stores if delayed.

Minimum requirements

• Build positive relationships with colleagues to foster team spirit.
• Be warm, welcoming, and attentive to customers and colleagues.
• Respond quickly to customer needs and embrace change.
• Be energetic, driven, and able to balance home and work life.
• Share ideas for store improvements.
• Hold a valid UK/EU/EEA driving license (full or automatic) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
