Job summary

Tesco’s Customer Delivery Drivers meet customers in their homes, delivering great service with a smile. This role is hands‑on and varied, with independence on the road and support from a base team when needed.

You’ll keep the van and workspace tidy, load the van safely, and manage substitutions or changes with care, ensuring timely deliveries and positive customer experiences. Pay starts at £14.18 per hour and rises to £15.45 in M25 stores, with a guaranteed minimum of 16 hours per week and

Qualifications

• Hold a valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (full or automatic) for at least 12 months, with no more than 3 penalty points.

Responsibilities

• Keep your van, trays, and work area clean, tidy, and organised so every customer receives their shopping in perfect condition.
• Load the van safely and complete checks to ensure it’s roadworthy and ready to deliver great service.
• Explain order changes, substitutions, or short‑dated items to customers in a friendly way and process refunds where needed to keep the experience smooth.
• Handle products with care, treating every order as if it were your own to maintain quality and trust.
• Deliver within the customer’s time slot, providing warm, natural service at the doorstep and leaving customers feeling valued.

You will be responsible

Keeping your van, trays, and work area clean, tidy, and organised so every customer receives their shopping in perfect condition.

Loading the van safely and completing all checks to ensure it’s roadworthy, reliable, and ready to deliver great service.

Talking customers through any order changes, substitutions, or short‑dated items in a friendly, reassuring way, and offering refunds where needed to keep the experience smooth and positive.

Handling products with care, treating every order as if it were your own to maintain quality and customer trust.

Delivering within the customer’s time slot, providing warm, natural service at the doorstep and leaving customers feeling valued and well looked after.

You will need

Build strong relationships with colleagues to create great team spirit and deliver the best service for customers.

Be warm and welcoming with customers and colleagues.

Respond quickly to changing customer needs and embrace change while out on the road and in the store.
