Job summary

Tesco is seeking Customer Delivery Drivers to represent the brand on the road, delivering groceries to customers’ homes with a smile. The role is hands-on and varied, offering independence most of the day and a supportive team at base.

Minimum 16 hours per week guaranteed, with shifts from 12 hours available and pay starting at £14.18 per hour, rising to £15.45 in M25 stores. You will be responsible for efficient loading, safe driving, accurate order handling and delivering a positive doorstep

Qualifications

• Valid UK/EU driving licence with at least 12 months on-road experience and no more than 3 penalty points.
• Strong customer service orientation and friendly, professional attitude.

Responsibilities

• Keep your van, trays and work area clean, tidy and organised to ensure accurate orders.
• Load the van safely and complete checks to ensure roadworthiness.
• Explain order changes or substitutions clearly to customers and process refunds when needed.
• Handle products with care to maintain quality and customer trust.
• Deliver within the customer's time slot and provide warm, natural service at the doorstep.

You will be responsible

Keeping your van, trays, and work area clean, tidy, and organised so every customer receives their shopping in perfect condition.

Loading the van safely and completing all checks to ensure it’s roadworthy, reliable, and ready to deliver great service.

Talking customers through any order changes, substitutions, or short‑dated items in a friendly, reassuring way, and offering refunds where needed to keep the experience smooth and positive.

Handling products with care, treating every order as if it were your own to maintain quality and customer trust.

Delivering within the customer’s time slot, providing warm, natural service at the doorstep and leaving customers feeling valued and well looked after.

You will need

Build strong relationships with colleagues to create great team spirit and deliver the best service for customers.

Be warm and welcoming with customers and colleagues.

Respond quickly to changing customer needs and embrace change while out on the road and in the store.

Hold a valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (full or automatic) for at least 12 months, with no more than 3 penalty points.
