Pay and Hours

Our Customer Delivery Driver rate starts from £12.92/hour, increasing to £14.05 inside the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location.

We guarantee a minimum of 16 hours weekly, with options for fewer hours down to 12. You will be scheduled within your availability windows with 3 weeks' notice. We support flexible scheduling, so if your available times are close to but not exactly matching the advertised times, we still want to hear from you.

Customer Focus

As the face of Tesco on the road, you will deliver to customers from Lands’ End to John O’Groats. This role involves more than driving; it’s about helping customers and delivering excellent service with a smile.

This role is hands-on, physical, and varied. No two shifts are the same, and our customers may need help in many ways. You’ll be your own boss during deliveries but supported by managers and colleagues back at base.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the van and trays are clean and organized.
• Keep the delivery area tidy and pick up litter.
• Wash trays as required.
• Load the van and check its roadworthiness.
• Communicate with customers about order changes, substitutions, and refunds.
• Handle deliveries with care.
• Explain substitution charges to customers.
• Deliver within the scheduled time slot.
• Call customers before early arrivals and inform stores if delayed.

Requirements

• Build positive relationships with colleagues.

• Hold a valid UK/EU/EEA driving license (full or automatic) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
