Our Customer Delivery Driver rate of pay starts from £12.92 an hour, increasing to £14.05 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location.

It's our policy to offer new colleagues a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, but opportunities for fewer hours (to a minimum of 12) are also available.

As the face of Tesco out on the road, our Customer Delivery Drivers meet and talk to different customers in their homes every day. This role is about more than just driving; it's about helping others and delivering great service with a smile.

You will be responsible for:

• Ensuring the van and trays are clean and kept tidy/organised.
• Leaving the back yard clean and clear of rubbish.
• Ensuring trays are washed as part of the tray wash process.
• Loading the van as required and checking the van for roadworthiness.
• Communicating with customers about any changes to their order, including short code items and substitutions.
• Taking care of products/deliveries as if they were your own.
• Delivering during the customer’s time slot.
• Calling the customer before arriving if early.
• Calling the store if running 30 or more minutes late.

You will need:

• A valid UK/EU/EEA Driving licence (Full or Automatic) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
• To build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit.
• To be warm and welcoming in interactions with customers and colleagues.
• To act quickly to respond to the changing needs of our customers.
• To be energetic and driven to deliver beyond expectations.
• To share ideas with your Manager and colleagues on store improvements.
