About the role

Our Customer Delivery Driver rate starts from £13.35/hour; £14.56/hour inside the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location.

We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week, with options for fewer hours (minimum 12). We support flexible scheduling within the availability windows provided, with 3 weeks' notice for shifts.

Customers are at the heart of everything we do. As the face of Tesco on the road, you will deliver from Lands' End to John O'Groats, meeting and assisting customers in their homes. This role involves more than driving: it's about helping others and delivering excellent service with a smile.

The job is hands-on, physical, and varied. No two shifts are the same. You'll deliver to customers but also have support from managers and colleagues back at the store.

Responsibilities

• Deliver customer orders, ensuring vehicles and trays are clean and organized.
• Maintain a tidy delivery area, pick up litter, and wash trays as needed.
• Load the van, check its roadworthiness.
• Communicate with customers about order changes, substitutions, and refunds.
• Handle products responsibly and deliver within the scheduled time slots.
• Call customers if early or late.

Requirements

• Build positive relationships with colleagues and customers.
• Be welcoming and responsive to customer needs.
• Act quickly to adapt to changing customer needs.
• Be energetic, driven, and able to balance work and life.
• Share ideas for store improvements.
• Hold a valid UK/EU/EEA driving license (full or automatic) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
