About the role

Availability Window

Days and times:

  • Sun: 09:00 - 19:00
  • Tue: 09:00 - 19:00
  • Wed: 19:00 - 23:00
  • Fri: 19:00 - 23:00

Our Customer Delivery Driver rate of pay starts from £13.35 an hour; this increases to £14.56 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.

We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours weekly, with options for fewer hours (minimum 12). We are flexible with scheduling within the available windows, with 3 weeks' notice of shifts. We welcome applications from those seeking flexibility to fit their lifestyle.

Customers are at the heart of everything we do. As the face of Tesco on the road, you will deliver from Lands' End to John O'Groats, engaging with customers in their homes daily. This role involves more than just driving; it's about helping others and delivering excellent service with a smile.

This role is hands-on, physical, and varied. No two shifts are the same, and while you will mostly work independently delivering to customers, support is available from managers and colleagues back at base.

Responsibilities
  • Delivering customer orders efficiently and courteously.
  • Ensuring the van and trays are clean and organized.
  • Maintaining a tidy delivery area and picking up litter.
  • Loading the van and checking its roadworthiness.
  • Communicating with customers about order changes and substitutions, offering refunds if needed.
  • Handling products with care.
  • Delivering within the scheduled time slots and notifying customers of early arrivals or delays.
Requirements
  • Build positive relationships with colleagues and customers.

  • Be energetic and motivated to exceed expectations.
  • Share ideas for store improvements.
  • Possess a valid UK/EU/EEA driving license (full or automatic) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
