Our Customer Delivery Driver rate of pay starts from £13.35 an hour; this increases to £14.56 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.

We guarantee a minimum of 16 hours per week for new colleagues, with options for fewer hours (minimum 12). We will schedule your shifts within your available times, with 3 weeks' notice. Flexibility is supported if your availability closely matches our needs. Read more.

Customers are at the heart of everything we do. As the face of Tesco on the road, you will deliver from Lands' End to John O'Groats, meeting customers in their homes daily. This role involves more than driving; it’s about helping others and delivering excellent service with a smile.

This hands-on, varied role allows you to feel like your own boss during shifts, with support from managers and colleagues back at base.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring the van and trays are clean and organized
  • Maintaining a tidy delivery area and picking up litter
  • Washing trays as required
  • Loading the van and checking its roadworthiness
  • Communicating with customers about order changes and substitutions, offering refunds if needed
  • Handling products carefully
  • Delivering within the scheduled time slot
  • Calling customers if early or late

Requirements:

  • Build relationships with colleagues
  • Be warm and welcoming to customers and colleagues
  • Respond quickly to customer needs and embrace change
  • Be energetic and driven to exceed expectations
  • Share ideas for store improvements
  • Hold a valid UK/EU/EEA Driving licence (Full or Automatic) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points
