Our Customer Delivery Driver rate of pay starts from £13.35 an hour; this increases to £14.56 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.

It’s our policy to offer new colleagues a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, but if you’d like to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12), we have opportunities for this too and would love to hear from you.

The table shows the periods of time in the week we’d like you to be available to work – the availability windows. We will schedule your contracted hours within these times, and you’ll have 3 weeks’ notice of your shifts. As the face of Tesco on the road, our Delivery Drivers meet customers in their homes daily. This role is about more than driving: helping others and delivering great service with a smile.

It’s hands-on, physical, and full of variety. No two shifts are the same. You’ll deliver to your customers but also have support from Managers and colleagues back at base.

Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring the van and trays are clean and organized.
• Leaving the delivery area tidy and picking up litter.
• Washing trays as required.
• Loading the van and checking its roadworthiness.
• Communicating with customers about their orders, substitutions, and refunds.
• Handling products with care.
• Delivering within the scheduled time slot.
• Calling customers before early arrivals and informing stores if running late.

Requirements:

• Build relationships with colleagues.
• Be warm and welcoming with customers and colleagues.
• Respond quickly to customer needs and embrace change.
• Be energetic and driven.
• Share ideas for store improvements.
• Hold a valid UK/EU/EEA Driving license (Full or Automatic), at least 12 months, with no more than 3 penalty points.
