• Fri: 13:00 - 23:00
• Sat: 13:00 - 23:00

Our Customer Delivery Driver rate of pay starts from £13.35 an hour. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.

It’s our policy to offer new colleagues a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, but if you'd prefer fewer hours (minimum 12), we have opportunities for this too and would love to hear from you.

The table shows the times we’d like you to be available to work — the availability windows. We will schedule your contracted hours within these times, with 3 weeks’ notice of your shifts. As the face of Tesco on the road, we deliver from Lands’ End to John O’Groats. Our Delivery Drivers meet and talk to customers in their homes daily. This role is about more than just driving: it’s about helping others and delivering excellent service with a smile.

This role is hands-on, physical, and varied. No two shifts are the same. While delivering, you’ll feel like your own boss, but support is always available from managers and colleagues back at base.

Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring the van and trays are clean and organized
• Leaving the delivery area tidy and picking up litter
• Washing trays as part of the process
• Loading the van and checking its roadworthiness
• Communicating with customers about order changes and substitutions, offering refunds if needed
• Handling products carefully
• Explaining that customers won’t be charged extra for substitutions
• Delivering within the scheduled time slot
• Calling customers if early and the store if delayed by 30+ minutes

Requirements:

• Be energetic and driven to exceed expectations
• Hold a valid UK/EU/EEA driving license (full or automatic) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points
