Job summary

Tesco UK is seeking a Customer Delivery Driver to bring orders to customers’ homes. This role blends driving with friendly, proactive service, requiring you to work independently most of the day with support back at base.

Pay starts at £14.18 per hour, rising to £15.45 in M25 stores, with a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week and shifts scheduled within availability windows. You’ll keep the van clean, load, check, and deliver in the customer’s time slot with warmth.

Qualifications

• Valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence with at least 12 months on road and no more than 3 penalty points.
• Ability to work independently with a friendly, customer‑facing approach.
• Willingness to follow routes and schedules and adapt to changes.

Responsibilities

• Keeping your van, trays, and work area clean, tidy, and organised so every customer receives their shopping in perfect condition.
• Loading the van safely and completing all checks to ensure it’s roadworthy.
• Talking customers through order changes or substitutions in a friendly way and offering refunds when needed.
• Handling products with care to maintain quality and customer trust.
• Delivering within the customer’s time slot and providing warm, natural service at the doorstep.
• Build strong relationships with colleagues to create great team spirit and service.
• Be welcoming with customers and colleagues and respond to changing needs on the road.
• Hold a valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence for at least 12 months, with no more than 3 penalty points.

As the face of Tesco on the road, our Customer Delivery Drivers meet customers in their homes every day. This role is about much more than driving; it’s about helping people and delivering great service with a smile.

It’s hands‑on, physical and full of variety, with no two shifts the same. You’ll work independently for much of the day, with a supportive team of managers and colleagues back at base whenever you need them.

Customer Delivery Driver pay starts at £14.18 per hour, rising to £15.45 in stores within the M25. Some locations may offer additional payments. We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours a week, with options from 12 hours if you prefer. Your shifts will be scheduled within the availability windows shown, and you’ll get at least 3 weeks’ notice. If your availability is close to what we need, we still encourage you to apply.

• Respond quickly to changing customer needs and embrace change while out on the road and in the store.
• Hold a valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (full or automatic) for at least 12 months, with no more than 3 penalty points.
