Duncan & Todd Group invites applications for an Optical Assistant at Clerk Street and Portobello Road, Edinburgh. The role is full-time and permanent, working 5 days across Monday to Saturday in busy optical branches.

You will support patients, assist with frame and lens choices, measurements, fittings, and inquiries while upholding GDPR and NHS guidelines. You will join a team committed to high standards of service and opportunities for training and career progression within the Duncan & Todd

Qualifications

• Experience within an optical environment would be advantageous; full training will be provided.
• Experience in a fast-paced and dynamic working environment.
• Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Strong problem solving and prioritisation abilities.

Responsabilités

• Participate in 3-Way Customer Handover with Optometrist and patient to gather prescription information.
• Advise patients on frame and lens selections based on prescription, needs and lifestyle.
• Take accurate measurements for lens selection.
• Conduct fittings and adjustments of spectacles with patients.
• Handle inquiries via phone, email or in person and direct as needed.
• Maintain branch appointment diary considering requests and staff availability.
• Process invoices and assist with stock control and orders.
