Job Overview
Fixing snagging/warranty issues in new build homes for a reputable developer in the Croydon area. Be part of a high-caliber team working for an award-winning contractor with approximately 50 years of experience in high-quality residential construction in Greater London.
Responsibilities
- Manage warranty, defect, and snagging requests by fixing issues or supervising contractors to meet contractual obligations and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate with Customer Care office staff to address reported issues, assisting with necessary actions and resource planning.
- Inspect issues onsite, clarify problems, and arrange remedial actions.
- Perform works related to latent defects and attend inspections with clients and contractors.
- Supervise contractors and engineers, inspecting completed works for quality assurance.
- Engage with residents to manage issues through to resolution.
- Participate in client meetings pre-handover to familiarize with schemes and introduce yourself as the site engineer.
- Update senior staff on issue resolution, ensuring documentation with photos and videos.
- Maintain regular communication with the Customer Care team regarding ongoing issues.
- Attend client inspections and update progress on defect resolution weekly.
- Provide sign-off sheets for completed repairs and advise on additional materials or actions needed.
- Supervise contractor attendance and repair strategies, especially for technical or costly follow-up works.
- Assist other team members as needed to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Maintain professional appearance and vehicle condition.
- Attend relevant training, adhere to health and safety policies, and ensure licenses are current.
- Participate in investigations of latent defects and team meetings.
- Keep the company vehicle clean and presentable.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, with occasional Saturdays (paid additionally).
Candidate Requirements
- Recognized trades qualification at NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
- Experience in repairs or maintenance tasks.
- Experience in customer service or warranty repairs in new build housing is advantageous.
- Full clean UK driving license.
- Positive attitude and proactive approach.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Attention to detail.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools.
- Comfortable with ladders and access platforms.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
Benefits
Salary of £45K-£48K plus van and excellent package. Van provided (not for personal use). Tools to be supplied; trades card provided for materials, expenses reimbursed.
