Booths in Preston is seeking a Specialist Customer Assistant to join our Counters team, working with meat, fish and dairy products. This part‑time role is 15 hours per week, with varied shifts including an 8pm finish on Saturdays, and a permanent contract.

Salary is £12.80 per hour, located at 4 Millbrook Way, Preston PR1 0XW. You will focus on delivering excellent customer service with a high level of interaction, building rotas with availability, and supporting a welcoming shopping environment

Customer Assistant (Specialist) - Counters

Rate: £12.80

Location: 4 Millbrook Way, Preston PR1 0XW

Hours: 15 hours per week

Working Pattern This is a part time position with a contract of 15 hours per week. Shift pattern will be varied hours including an 8pm finish on Saturdays.

As part of your contract, we ask for availability that is, as a minimum, one and a half times your weekly hours. For example, if you were on a 10-hour contract, we would ask for 15 hours of availability. This doesn’t mean you will work 15 hours (unless there is overtime available, and this may be offered to you) but your shifts may be placed anywhere within the availability you provide. This helps us build fair, consistent rotas, and ensures we can meet customer demand across the week. With this role being in Retail, you must also be available to work one late night and one weekend day per week.

You will have 2 weeks’ notice of when your shifts will be. If you can’t exactly match the hours and days we are looking for, this can be discussed. We are always happy to hear from you.

The Role

As a Specialist Customer Assistant, you will be working on our Counters.As part of our Counters team, you will be working with a variety of meat, fish and dairy products. This role will be based on our Raw Counter and will involve working with raw meats. You will have high degree of customer interaction and should therefore have a friendly, polite and approachable manner.

Under 18: £10.30 p/h

18 – 20 years: £10.94 p/h

21+: £12.80 p/h
