Job summary

Sainsbury’s in Weymouth is seeking a Customer Assistant for night shifts to help stock shelves, keep the store tidy and provide a great shopping experience. You will move goods from the warehouse to the shopfloor and work across departments, including chilled and frozen areas, using digital tools to complete tasks accurately.

As part of our team you’ll learn quickly, support colleagues, and may assist at checkouts after training, ensuring customers have everything they come for, day in day out.

Responsibilities

• Getting the store ready by filling shelves and maintaining a steady pace during the night shift.
• Keeping workspace tidy and aisles clean and presentable for customers.
• Collecting and moving stock from the warehouse to shopfloor, including heavy items.
• Working across store areas, including chilled and frozen sections.
• Using equipment, handsets and digital systems to complete tasks accurately and safely.
• Assisting in other areas as needed, including online orders or serving at checkouts once trained.

What you’ll be doing

• Getting the store ready for the day ahead by filling shelves, working at a good steady pace throughout the night and being prepared to work with a variety of product types
• Keeping your workspace tidy for other colleagues and making sure our aisles are clean, presentable and ready for our customers the next day
• Collecting and moving stock safely from the warehouse to the shopfloor, including heavy equipment and containers
• Working across different parts of the store, which could include chilled and frozen areas
• Using equipment, handsets and digital systems to complete your work accurately and safely
• Helping in other areas when needed, which could include picking online orders or serving customers at checkouts once you're trained and confident
