Sainsbury's in Bridgwater is seeking team members for store operations, with both permanent and fixed-term vacancies. You will help stock shelves, move products, and support customers across night shifts. Training will prepare you to work at checkouts and in other store areas, with a focus on safety and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Get the store ready for the day by filling shelves and maintaining a steady night pace.
• Keep workspace tidy and aisles clean for customers.
• Move stock safely from warehouse to shopfloor, including heavy items.
• Work across different store areas, including chilled and frozen sections.
• Use equipment, handsets and digital systems to complete tasks accurately and safely.
• Assist in other areas when needed, including online orders or checkouts after training.

Working in our stores

Our stores are at their busiest during the festive season, when customers are counting on us to help make this magical time of year truly special. To get our store teams ready, we have both permanent and fixed-term vacancies available so please check the contract type above before applying to make sure it is the right role for you.

Important checks before you apply

• The minimum application age for this role is 18, due to the working hours and type of goods (alcohol, etc) that you may be required to handle

What You’ll Be Doing

• Getting the store ready for the day ahead by filling shelves, working at a good steady pace throughout the night and being prepared to work with a variety of product types
• Keeping your workspace tidy for other colleagues and making sure our aisles are clean, presentable and ready for our customers the next day
• Collecting and moving stock safely from the warehouse to the shopfloor, including heavy equipment and containers
• Working across different parts of the store, which could include chilled and frozen areas
• Using equipment, handsets and digital systems to complete your work accurately and safely
• Helping in other areas when needed, which could include picking online orders or serving customers at checkouts once you’re trained and confident
