Job summary

Sainsbury's Limited in Carlisle is seeking a part-time Night Shift Assistant to help prepare the store for the day ahead. The role involves stocking shelves, maintaining tidy spaces, and moving stock from warehouse to shopfloor.

You will work across store areas including chilled sections and may assist at checkouts after training. The shift pattern runs during the night with a requirement to be flexible across Sundays, Fridays and Saturdays, and a Right to Work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Get the store ready for the day by stocking shelves and working through the night.

• Use equipment and digital systems to complete tasks safely and accurately.
• Assist in other areas when needed, including online order picking or checkout duties once trained.

What you’ll be doing

• Getting the store ready for the day ahead by filling shelves, working at a good steady pace throughout the night and being prepared to work with a variety of product types
• Keeping your workspace tidy for other colleagues and making sure our aisles are clean, presentable and ready for our customers the next day
• Collecting and moving stock safely from the warehouse to the shopfloor, including heavy equipment and containers
• Working across different parts of the store, which could include chilled and frozen areas
• Using equipment, handsets and digital systems to complete your work accurately and safely
• Helping in other areas when needed, which could include picking online orders or serving customers at checkouts once you’re trained and confident
