Overview
Our customer assistants are the essential link between our business and our customers. From day one, you\'ll act as a brand ambassador offering great customer service to help us deliver our mission of being the home of the ultimate big screen experience. You\'re not required to have prior working experience to be a successful customer assistant but you must have the enthusiasm and passion to help create that exciting atmosphere for the millions of customers that visit us each year. You\'ll be hands on greeting customers in and out of the cinema, serving at our retail counters, keeping the cinema clean and tidy and be equipped with the knowledge to answer queries about all our latest content and blockbusters. And what\'s great - many of our employees began their journey with us as a customer assistant and have gone on to develop a career within our business.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers into our cinema, offer a prompt service and support with queries, ensure a clean, comfortable and safe environment at all times, and check that each customer visit was to their satisfaction.
- Use pace and efficiency at till points to maintain a high level of customer service and help manage queue times.
- Communicate up-to-date information about current content features, showtimes, availability, and offer alternative options if first choices are sold out.
- Utilise training and development tools to confidently complete daily tasks and responsibilities.
- Share up-to-date information about pricing, value of offerings and booking options with customers.
- Explain the full range of products and services available by sharing fun facts, stories, statistics and key information (e.g., VIP & recliner seating, accessibility options, over 18 screenings).
- Inform customers about food & beverage options, including where to purchase and any promotional offers or combos.
- Keep all cinema areas clean, comfortable and tidy (retail counters, kitchen areas, screens, washrooms, foyer, corridors, staff room, etc.).
- Help maintain a safe environment, identify and report any suspicious behaviors or disruptions; promote equal access and opportunities for all with no unjustified discrimination.
- Demonstrate a positive can-do attitude, be a team player, work at pace in busy environments, and show initiative to learn new skills.
- Treat colleagues and customers with respect, be approachable, and maintain a clean and tidy uniform.
- Communicate clearly, with good verbal and written skills, and be confident using cinema technology (till points, ticket scanners, etc.).
Qualifications
- Prior working experience is not essential but some experience with people is preferred.
- Aligned with core values; able to demonstrate them daily.
- Belonging, collaboration, customer focus, dynamic and excitement are valued traits.
- Comfort with working at pace in a busy environment and taking initiative to learn new skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and engage with customers about content and services.
Salary and Benefits
- Salary: minimum wage; 18-20 year olds £10.00, 21 and over £12.21 per hour.
