The Role
We are looking for a Customer Architect who is highly technically proficient, an excellent communicator, and has a strong customer orientation. This role is both customer-facing and technical, with a primary focus on delivering key customer features to production. The Customer Architect builds strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders such as Sales, Product Management, Engineering, and Enterprise Architecture. They advise project teams and customers on design, product enhancements, optimization, and implementation, while being commercially aware and making sound judgment calls. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation team to deliver our product per customer requirements, driving architectural decisions and best practices, ensuring delivery on budget and on time.
- Provide consultancy services to our customers as they use our product.
- Manage customer solutions and system architecture.
- Translate business requirements into system-level design and detailed technical architecture documents clearly and professionally.
- Identify product enhancements and inform product management of their business value.
- Collaborate with Operations to analyze system performance in production and evaluate enhancements for performance and cost benefits.
- Contribute to and agree on a strategic customer roadmap with leadership.
- Support the long-term development of our product suite.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement activities.
Experience Required
- Customer-facing experience in previous roles is required.
- Experience presenting at C-level and operating within multi-location delivery teams, with both onsite and remote engagement.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Experience in the e-commerce (retail) industry and/or high transaction volume or mission-critical cloud solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality customer-facing documentation.
- Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills, able to challenge the status quo.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- 7+ years in application design and development.
- Expertise in technologies such as Java, J2EE, SOA, JBoss, Tomcat, JDBC, SOAP, REST, OOD/OOA, .NET, HTML, CSS, JS, JQuery, React.
- Experience with databases like Oracle, Postgres, MongoDB.
- Willing to travel to Datalex offices and customer sites periodically.
- Knowledge of the airline industry is an advantage but not necessary.
