Are you a commercially focused marketing professional with a talent for strategic planning and cross-functional collaboration? Heron Foods is offering a brand-new opportunity to join our dynamic Marketing team as Customer and Trade Planning Manager — a pivotal role with full ownership of our trade marketing plan.

This is your chance to lead the planning and execution of our trade marketing strategy across a growing estate of 340+ stores nationwide. Sitting at the heart of our fast-paced retail business, you’ll play a key role in driving customer engagement, commercial performance, and the delivery of effective, aligned campaigns.

You’ll work closely with stakeholders across Buying, Supply Chain, Merchandising, Digital, and Store Operations to ensure our trade activity lands with impact—on time and in line with both seasonal events and commercial priorities.

We’re looking for a confident, strategically minded individual who thrives on turning insight into action and is ready to take full responsibility for shaping and managing a clear, customer-focused trade plan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take full ownership of the 12-month trade marketing plan, ensuring alignment with commercial goals and seasonal events.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to coordinate and execute all promotional and in-store marketing campaigns.
  • Champion the delivery of consistent customer experiences across stores, providing clarity and direction to the wider marketing team.
  • Lead the planning and delivery of all trade-focused POS and merchandising activity, working closely with store teams and print suppliers.
  • Monitor, review, and optimise campaign effectiveness, providing insight-driven recommendations for future improvements.
  • Act as the central contact for trade marketing planning, ensuring all departments are aligned and fully briefed on upcoming campaigns and key trading periods.

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience in trade marketing, commercial planning, or a similar coordination/marketing role—preferably within FMCG or retail.
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities across different business functions.
  • A confident communicator who can influence and collaborate at all levels of the business.
  • Skilled in using planning tools and Excel to manage timelines, report on performance, and track activity.
  • A strong understanding of the customer journey and a passion for delivering impactful in-store experiences.
