B&Q Southend is hiring a part-time Customer Advisor to help customers improve their homes. You will work 12 hours per week on a rota that covers Monday to Sunday, 7.00am–10.00pm, with a notional hourly rate of £13.10.

You will provide friendly customer service, assist with stock and displays, and may receive training in paint mixing and timber cutting. This fixed-term contract lasts 3 months and requires a flexible, team-oriented approach.

What's the job?

Join our team, and you’ll become an expert advisor. An inspiration as well as a guide. The person who gets to know every customer and their home improvement projects. Sales will be important, of course, as will things like managing stock, setting up displays, and making sure your store looks great. You’ll have the opportunity to be trained in paint-mixing and cutting timber, but truly great customer service will be your main aim.

Happy to help, eager to learn and just a little bit obsessed with home improvement, you’ll be right at home with us. You’re friendly and outgoing, and you get a buzz from helping others. You’ll have the opportunity to expand your skills by using new technology and learning new ways of working. You’re great at working in a team too, and flexible enough to work on a rota that includes weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
