Job summary

B&Q Ayr is looking for a Customer Advisor to join our team on a permanent part-time basis, offering 20 hours per week. You’ll become an expert advisor, helping customers with home improvement needs and learning stock management, displays, and store presentation.

Training may include paint mixing and timber cutting, with a strong emphasis on exceptional customer service. You’ll be friendly, eager to learn, and comfortable using new technology.

Qualifications

• Friendly and outgoing, ready to help customers.
• Willing to learn new ways of working and use new technology.
• Able to work on a rota including weekends, evenings and bank holidays.

Responsibilities

• Sell products and provide excellent customer service.
• Manage stock and help with displays to keep the store looking great.
• Assist in paint mixing and timber cutting as part of training.

What's the job?

Join our team, and you’ll become an expert advisor. An inspiration as well as a guide. The person who gets to know every customer and their home improvement projects. Sales will be important, of course, as will things like managing stock, setting up displays, and making sure your store looks great. You’ll have the opportunity to be trained in paint-mixing and cutting timber, but truly great customer service will be your main aim.

What we need:

Happy to help, eager to learn and just a little bit obsessed with home improvement, you’ll be right at home with us. You’re friendly and outgoing, and you get a buzz from helping others. You’ll be happy to expand your skills by using new technology and learning new ways of working. You’re great at working in a team too, and flexible enough to work on a rota that includes weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
