Job summary

B&Q Whitstable is hiring a part-time Customer Advisor on a 3-month fixed-term contract. You’ll work 15, 18, or 30 hours weekly with shifts across a 7.00am–10.00pm window, contributing to stock, displays, and a welcoming store environment.

You’ll be trained in paint-mixing and timber-cutting while delivering outstanding customer service and supporting customers’ home improvement projects.

Qualifications

• Friendly and outgoing person with a buzz for helping others.
• Eager to learn and adapt to new technology and ways of working.
• Strong team player with the ability to work on a rota including weekends/evenings/bank holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice to customers and handle inquiries.
• Assist with stock management and setting up displays to maintain a great store appearance.
• Learn paint-mixing and timber-cutting as part of training; deliver excellent customer service.

What's the job?

Join our team, and you’ll become an expert advisor. An inspiration as well as a guide. The person who gets to know every customer and their home improvement projects. Sales will be important, of course, as well as things like managing stock, setting up displays, and making sure your store looks great. You’ll have the opportunity to be trained in paint-mixing and cutting timber, but truly great customer service will be your main aim.

What we need:

Happy to help, eager to learn and just a little bit obsessed with home improvement, you’ll be right at home with us. You’re friendly and outgoing, and you get a buzz from helping others. You’ll be happy to expand your skills by using new technology and learning new ways of working. You’re great at working in a team too, and flexible enough to work on a rota that includes weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
