Job summary

B&Q Limited Chippenham is recruiting a Customer Advisor on a part-time 20-hour week fixed-term contract for 3 months. Shifts run Mon–Sun, 7:00am–10:00pm, with an hourly rate of £13.10. You’ll be an expert advisor, helping customers with home projects, stock, displays, and basic paint-mixing and timber cutting training while delivering great service.

We seek friendly, flexible teammates who enjoy helping others, thrive in a team, and are happy to work weekends and bank holidays.

Qualifications

• Friendly and outgoing, enjoys helping others.
• Eager to learn and adapt to new technology and ways of working.
• Able to work on a rota including weekends, evenings and bank holidays.

Responsibilities

• Sell and advise customers while helping with stock and displays.
• Assist with store presentation and layout to keep it looking great.
• Learn paint-mixing and timber cutting techniques as part of training.

What's the job?

Join our team, and you’ll become an expert advisor. An inspiration as well as a guide. The person who gets to know every customer and their home improvement projects. Sales will be important, of course, as will things like managing stock, setting up displays, and making sure your store looks great. You’ll have the opportunity to be trained in paint-mixing and cutting timber, but truly great customer service will be your main aim.

What we need:

Happy to help, eager to learn and just a little bit obsessed with home improvement, you’ll be right at home with us. You’re friendly and outgoing, and you get a buzz from helping others. You’ll be happy to expand your skills by using new technology and learning new ways of working. You’re great at working in a team too, and flexible enough to work on a rota that includes weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
