Job summary

B&Q Chester is hiring a Customer Advisor on a part-time, 25 hours per week, 3 month fixed-term contract. Shifts are 4pm–11pm, Monday to Sunday. You’ll be the expert advisor, helping customers with home improvement projects, supporting stock management, and setting up displays.

You’ll have the chance to learn paint mixing and timber cutting, while delivering great service. We value teamwork, flexibility for weekends and evenings, and a friendly, proactive approach.

Qualifications

• Friendly and outgoing, eager to help customers.
• Willing to learn new technologies and ways of working.
• Able to work on a rota including weekends, evenings and bank holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers and become an expert advisor.
• Help manage stock and set up displays to keep the store looking great.
• Support paint-mixing and timber-cutting training when available.

What's the job?

Join our team, and you’ll become an expert advisor. An inspiration as well as a guide. The person who gets to know every customer and their home improvement projects. Sales will be important, of course, as will things like managing stock, setting up displays, and making sure your store looks great. You’ll have the opportunity to be trained in paint-mixing and cutting timber, but truly great customer service will be your main aim.

What we need:

Happy to help, eager to learn and just a little bit obsessed with home improvement, you’ll be right at home with us. You’re friendly and outgoing, and you get a buzz from helping others. You’ll be happy to expand your skills by using new technology and learning new ways of working. You’re great at working in a team too, and flexible enough to work on a rota that includes weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
