Job summary

B&Q Barking Tradepoint is seeking a Customer Advisor - Pricing on a part-time basis (12 hours per week). You'll become an expert advisor helping customers with home improvement projects, handling stock, setting up displays, and supporting sales, with training in paint-mixing and timber cutting.

You'll need enthusiasm, teamwork, and flexibility to cover weekend, evenings and bank holidays on a rota. The role offers a UK hourly rate of £14, plus location allowance.

Qualifications

• Friendly and outgoing, eager to learn and help customers.
• Able to work as part of a team in a busy store environment.
• Willing to work weekends, evenings, and bank holidays on a rota.
• Comfortable learning new technologies and processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with pricing and product queries to drive sales.
• Manage stock and keep displays tidy and up to date.
• Support paint-mixing and timber-cutting training as needed.
• Ensure the store looks presentable and welcoming to shoppers.

What's the job?

Join our team, and you'll become an expert advisor. An inspiration as well as a guide. The person who gets to know every customer and their home improvement projects. Sales will be important, of course, as will things like managing stock, setting up displays, and making sure your store looks great. You'll have the opportunity to be trained in paint-mixing and cutting timber, but truly great customer service will be your main aim.

What we need:

Happy to help, eager to learn and just a little bit obsessed with home improvement, you'll be right at home with us. You're friendly and outgoing, and you get a buzz from helping others. You'll be happy to expand your skills by using new technology and learning new ways of working. You're great at working in a team too, and flexible enough to work on a rota that includes weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
