Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking qualified nurses or paramedics to provide healthcare in custody suites across designated UK regions. You will join a team delivering compassionate, high-quality care to detainees while adhering to strict policing and security standards.

The role requires NMC/HCPC registration, driving license, and two years post‑qualification experience in a clinical setting. You will work a rotating schedule, including night shifts, with overtime potential and Police Vetting

Qualifications

• RN, RGN or RMN with dual registration; 2 years post qualification required; Band 5 minimum
• Paramedic: 2 years post qualification
• Must have right to work in the UK; British Passport or ILR for 3 years with minimal country absences
• All candidates will be subject to Police Vetting
• NMC/HCPC registration is paid by the employer

Job description

Applicants must have a minimum of two years' post-qualification experience in a patient-facing role within a relevant clinical setting. Suitable environments include Accident & Emergency (A&E), General Practice, Emergency Medicine, Acute Medicine, Prison Healthcare, or the Ambulance Service. This experience should demonstrate your ability to deliver high-quality care, work under pressure, and manage diverse clinical situations effectively.

You must have a Driving license

In collaboration with the Police, you'll serve in custody suites, delivering healthcare to detainees. We are dedicated to ensuring the safety of detainees with round-the-clock coverage in the custody suites, in line with a schedule agreed upon with our client.

The role requires the flexibility to work not only in your base Custody suite but across an assigned region in the Police Custody Suites and Force area

• Salary £20,750 per year

• £500 bonus when completed 12 months service.

• Part time - this entails fixed shift working: 06:45 to 19:00 for day shifts and night shifts of 18:45 to 07:00, working in a team rota pattern of 2-day shifts on, 8 days off, 2 nights, 4 days off. Rolling rota available 2 years in advance.

• These patterns are contractually agreed with the customer: whereas there may be opportunities for a part-time or mutually agreed “Bank” contract, we require all employees to work full shifts, and part-time employees still need to carry out some Night shifts.

• Average estimated overtime £3500 per annum

• NMC/HCPC Registration paid

Requirements:

• RN, RGN or (RMN with dual registration):2 years post qualification - Band 5 minimum

• Paramedic 2 years post qualification.

• Must have RTW, Lived in UK British Passport or ILR for 3 years + no gaps out of country more than 3 months

• All candidates will be subject to Police Vetting
