Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing line management, including supervision, appraisal, managing poor performance, and identifying CPD strategies.
  • Forensic sampling (including road traffic offence bloods).
  • Signposting and conducting referrals; offering support for vulnerabilities and supporting patients to break patterns of re-offending.
  • Delivering substance misuse therapies.
  • Assessment & care of detainees and staff in custody suites.
  • Supporting the early identification and assessment of high-risk attendees attending police custody, working as part of the police and healthcare team.
  • Managing clinical resources and overseeing healthcare delivery for high-risk patients, working closely with the police custody team, especially PACE.
  • Line management of Healthcare Professionals across Surrey custody suites, including appraisals and performance management.
  • Overseeing patient triage in custody to determine the need for hospital referral, balancing timely care with patient wellbeing.
