In order to help facilitate our continued development, we are looking to recruit a new Travel Executive to join the Get Me To The Alps team. Applicants must demonstrate intelligence, ability to work under pressure, and a willingness to go the extra mile. Ski experience is desirable but not essential, as we can provide excellent training and guidance on all aspects of the role.
Key requirements:
Some ski experience, at least one skiing holiday
Computer skills, including:
Fast and accurate typing skills; high standard of grammar and spelling due to email contact with customers
Efficiency at multi-tasking on a computer; proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent telephone manner
Strong numeracy skills
Strong written communication skills
Willingness to work additional hours, including weekends and evenings during peak periods
Beneficial skills (not essential):
Languages, ideally French or Spanish
Ski knowledge or experience
Experience within the travel sector
Sales experience
Responsibilities:
Answering sales inquiries, costing holidays using Excel, and preparing quotes via PowerPoint and email templates
Logging contacts and inquiries into sales tracking software, replying to customer queries, and converting quotes into bookings
Building relationships with customers and group leaders to maintain retention
Calculating margins and profits based on group size, travel dates, and inclusions
Processing online orders and ensuring bookings are confirmed with suppliers
Maintaining the online booking system and website, updating costs and availability, sourcing new suppliers and accommodations
Booking flights, hotels, and ancillary products accurately
Logging bookings and ensuring financial data accuracy
Chasing balances owed, processing payments, and logging transactions
Working hours:
Office hours are 9:00 am - 5:30 pm. During peak season, weekend work may be required, with days off in lieu. Currently, working from home during the pandemic.
