Curriculum Scheduling Manager – Faculty Nautical & STEM

Fixed Term Contract 18 Months (may be reviewed for extension), 35 Hours per week,

This is an excellent opportunity to join one of Scotland’s top colleges with access to excellent CPD opportunities within a motivated skilled workforce within our new Riverside Campus that will provide an excellent working and learning environment.

We are seeking a Curriculum Scheduling Manager to drive end-to-end curriculum, resource, and timetable planning. In this vital role, you will bridge the gap between academic intent and operational delivery optimising teaching space, staffing resources, and specialist facilities while balancing student experience and College efficiency.

You will work with Curriculum Heads and Associate Deans to model programme structures, student numbers, and teaching patterns. Perform scenario planning and options appraisals using MIS, utilising timetabling teams and systems to support planning and scheduling. This will involve translating agreed curriculum plans into robust timetable requirements, maximise space, staffing, and facility utilisation while identifying early stage constraints, clashes, and dependencies.

The role will involve working with complex datasets across curriculum, student, staffing, and estates systems. Maintain strict validation controls to ensure all planning and timetabling data is complete, accurate, and consistent. The successful candidate will need to exercise sound judgment to investigate resource conflicts, constructively challenge inefficient planning assumptions, and negotiate workable solutions with academic leadership. A collaborative approach with IT and MIS teams to test, evaluate, and implement system developments, driving automation, process improvements, and staff awareness of best practice, will be essential.

It will be essential to have experience in curriculum planning, timetabling, scenario modelling, or resource optimisation within Further or Higher Education, whilst having the ability to interrogating complex data across MIS, student information systems, and supporting specialist timetabling platforms. You will also require exceptional problem-solving skills with a track record of resolving competing operational priorities and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence academic leaders and present technical data to diverse audiences clearly.
