Location: Guildford, Surrey International Study Centre

Salary: up to £42,335.99 per annum

Role overview

The Curriculum Leader for English (CLE) will contribute to delivering excellent student outcomes, quality assurance, curriculum enhancement, and innovation. The role involves leading the AES team, supporting quality and curriculum development, and working closely with senior colleagues and external partners. The post reports to the Regional Head of English Curriculum and is responsible for student progression and outcomes.

Main responsibilities

  1. Oversee the delivery of AES, including timetabling, assessment, and monitoring.
  2. Support AES tutors through feedback and staffing arrangements.
  3. Assist in staff recruitment for AES.
  4. Participate in meetings and represent the RHEC and Centre externally.
  5. Contribute to strategic planning and resource management.
  6. Coordinate with student support services to enhance student engagement and outcomes.
  7. Ensure consistency and quality across AES provision, sharing best practices.
  8. Contribute to curriculum review and development.
  9. Prepare reports and evaluations for internal and external reviews.
  10. Supervise standards and compliance with the Study Group LTA Strategy.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned by the RHEC.

Candidate profile

  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s or higher preferred)
  • Recognised teaching qualification (desirable)
  • Post-16 or higher education teaching experience
  • Leadership experience with proven success
  • Experience providing constructive feedback
  • Ability to delegate and meet deadlines
  • Experience working with international students
  • Data management and quality assurance skills
  • Curriculum development experience
  • Experience with Virtual Learning Environments
