Job summary

Gateshead Council is seeking a Curriculum Lead (T, L & A Practitioner) to lead high-quality learning experiences and drive curriculum innovation within Learning and Skills. You will work with the Quality and Business Improvement Manager to ensure learners reach their potential.

You will develop CPD, supervise staff, and monitor T, L & A aligned with Ofsted and FE best practice, including TAQA, CAVA and IQA. Hybrid working and a generous benefits package are included.

Qualifications

• A degree-level qualification (or equivalent relevant experience) in a relevant curriculum area, together with a Level 4 or above teaching qualification.
• Strong understanding of the Further Education sector.
• Experience of teaching T, L & A qualifications such as TAQA, CAVA and IQA.
• Experience of curriculum planning within the FE sector, alongside at least three years' teaching or training experience.
• Experience of supervising, mentoring or coaching staff and supporting high-quality curriculum delivery.
• Proven ability to work independently, use initiative and develop productive partnerships with a range of stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, organisational and relationship-building skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• A flexible, solution-focused approach with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to foster collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Support the continuous improvement of T, L & A through learning walks, observations and work scrutiny.
• Developing, delivering and assessing T, L & A qualifications such as CAVA, IQA, SEND that positively engages teachers, following Ofsted guidelines and Learning and Skills best practice.
• Developing bespoke CPD to support learners towards positive outcomes and destinations such as increased confidence and resilience, improved mental and physical health.
• Providing supervision to staff within the specialist area to ensure outstanding T, L & A
• Supporting the Quality and Business Improvement Manager with monitoring of T, L & A.
• Contributing and fully complying with quality and business improvement systems, processes and procedures.
