CURRICULUM AREA LEADER – BIOLOGY, CHEMISTRY AND APPLIED SCIENCE

The College operates across two closely located campuses, next to the University of Leicester on University Road and a smaller campus at Regent Road.

In this context, we are looking to appoint a Curriculum Area Leader in Biology, Chemistry and Applied Science to join our Curriculum Leadership Team.

The successful candidate will lead and co-ordinate the work of the curriculum area supported by a Deputy Curriculum Area Leader, two Assistant Curriculum Area Leaders and a Senior Technician. We have a dedicated team of 6 technicians.

We are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic person with substantial and successful advanced level teaching experience where the ability to teach across a variety of Biology (A Level / GCSE), Chemistry (A Level / GCSE) and Applied Science (legacy Pearson BTEC and Pearson AAQ) would be an advantage. The capacity to lead and motivate staff and students, will be essential as the successful candidate will help us to provide the best possible learning experiences and outcomes for our students.

This is a permanent full-time, term-time post commencing in January 2026 or earlier if possible.

The salary will be at a point on the Sixth Form Colleges pay spine which ranges from £32,178 – £49,725 per annum, plus a responsibility allowance commencing at £10,030 and rising annually to £11,921.
