Role requirements
- Provides advice to the Interim Head of Service, Young Community Languages
- Leads and project manages a sustained focus on priority outcomes for Young Community Languages whilst identifying and tackling inequalities.
- Leads on recruitment, development and management of community languages tutors
- Accountable and responsible for developing and delivering curriculum, standards, business intelligence, performance and improvement for Young Community Languages
- Leads the development of innovative solutions to complex problems using creative and collaborative approaches that brings together internal and external stakeholders to influence and shape strategy and policy.
- Supports the development of an extensive network of key influencers inside and outside the organisation to support the development of Young Community Languages.
- Works with stakeholders to ensure the delivery of key project milestones on time and within budget, resource and policy.
- Ensures the production and analysis of key management information and clearly and concisely presenting and communicating this to internal and external stakeholders.
- Devises and manages a regular project reporting mechanism for relevant business leaders.
- Tracks and monitors progress and escalating business risks where appropriate.
Key attributes
- Evidence of significant expertise and experience in developing community languages (e.g. Bengali, Chinese, and Somali) curriculum, standards and achieving continuous improvement.
- Evidence of significant expertise and experience in delivering community languages performance related and high-quality intelligence and analysis
- Proven demonstrable evidence of using well developed management skill within a context of complexity and ambiguity to influence priority outcomes.
- Highly developed technical skills and abilities in analysis and interpretation that leads to development of service strategic direction setting.
- Proven project and staff management experience
