A large NHS trust in Manchester is seeking a Clinical Tobacco Dependency Nurse to assess patients and provide support for tobacco dependency. The ideal candidate will be compassionate and self-motivated, with excellent communication skills. This role requires flexibility and the ability to work across multiple sites, contributing to a program of national importance in tobacco cessation.
The CURE Project is a national best‑practice Tobacco Dependency Treatment Programme for patients seen in Greater Manchester Lung Cancer Screening or admitted to hospital. It is based on the Ottawa Model for smoking cessation and is referenced in the NHS Long Term Plan and GIRFT reports.
As a Clinical Tobacco Dependency Nurse you will assess inpatients and outpatients, provide behavioural support and treatments for tobacco dependency, liaise with outpatient services and health promotion, and teach multidisciplinary teams across the Trust.
You will be an enthusiastic, compassionate and self‑motivated nurse with an interest in tobacco dependency. You possess excellent communication skills, can motivate others, work autonomously, link with other healthcare teams and professionals, and are flexible and able to travel across MFT sites and Lung Cancer Screening Trucks.
MFT promotes equality of opportunity, celebrates diversity and eliminates unlawful discrimination. All individuals regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy, maternity, race, religion or belief, sex and sexual orientation are encouraged to apply.
