Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen, starting on 7th July 2025.
A company specialising in promoting art and culture related to Japan is seeking a Culture & Art Projects Assistant to join their team.
This role is offered on a temporary contract basis, provisionally from early July 2025 until the end of October 2025.
Some interest in and understanding of Japanese language and culture would be advantageous.

Eligible applicants:

Work type: On-site (occasional work from home option available)
Visa support: No

TYPE: Temporary, until 31st Oct 2025 (TBC, * There may be a possibility of transitioning to permanent employment after this period)
SALARY: £12.55-14.78 per hour plus holiday pay
START: 7th Jul 2025
WORKING HOURS: Mon-Fri, 09:30 – 17:30
Event period: You’ll be expected to work over weekends + some overtime
LOCATION: London (west) office / on-site, with occasional remote work available (up to 2 days per week)

Culture & Art Projects Assistant Responsibilities:
  1. Preparing documents such as programmes and questionnaires
  2. Managing visitors before the event (compiling online data, contacting VIPs)
  3. Providing on-the-day support at events, including distributing materials and assisting visitors
  4. Supporting marketing and PR efforts (including the creation of digital flyers)
  5. Compiling and managing feedback via questionnaires
  6. Handling general administrative duties, such as sending materials
  7. Assisting with communications involving external parties (e.g. co-organisers, sponsors)

Culture & Art Projects Assistant Ideal Candidate:
  1. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  2. Strong attention to detail
  3. Excellent communication skills, both internally and externally
  4. Interest in Japanese culture and the arts
  5. Experience with social media and image editing software (e.g. Photoshop) would be advantageous
  6. Japanese business language skills would be a plus
