Job summary

Slug & Lettuce, York is seeking a Kitchen Team Member to support the Head Chef with orders, stock checks and hygiene, while helping maintain a clean, efficient kitchen. This role offers a chance to develop in a vibrant hospitality venue within the Stonegate Group portfolio.

You should have a passion for hospitality, a willingness to learn, and a keen eye for detail. You’ll assist with food preparation and contribute to delivering great guest experiences.

Qualifications

• A passion for hospitality.
• Willingness to learn new skills daily.
• Keen eye for detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to assist Head Chef with orders, stock takes and hygiene.
• Experience maintaining kitchen equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with food preparation.
• Produce high-quality dishes consistently to specification for our guests.
• Ensure the kitchen is in an excellent, clean and hygienic condition at all times.
• Overseeing deliveries.
• Offer suggestions and creative ideas that can improve the kitchen’s performance.
• Work with the team to achieve company targets.
