Job description

Position Summary

Baptist Health Brookwood Hospital is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to provide quality patient care through diagnostic imaging and related procedures, demonstrating anatomy for interpretation and intervention while adhering to radiation safety principles.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  1. Exercise professional judgment in performing services and maintain a demeanor aligned with quality care.
  2. Deliver appropriate patient care, recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful procedure completion.
  3. Comply with all applicable state and federal regulations for each modality.
  4. Adhere to Orlando Health's mission statements and strategic imperatives.
  5. Assess patients' physical conditions and age-specific needs.
  6. Provide instructions to achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
  7. Perform proper patient identification, acquire clinical history, and ensure accurate documentation.
  8. Position patients, equipment, and devices, and manipulate technical factors to produce high-quality images.
  9. Assess diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring all relevant anatomy is demonstrated.
  10. Apply radiation safety principles to minimize exposure to patients, staff, and others.
  11. Comply with Quality Control standards and participate in related tasks.
  12. Demonstrate proficiency in contrast medication administration, with or without power injectors.
  13. Perform venipuncture and evaluate IV access for contrast administration as prescribed.
  14. Administer medical aid in cases of adverse reactions or emergencies.
  15. Use standard precautions and personal protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination.
  16. Assist in supervising student technologists and training new technologists.
  17. Utilize all corporate radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
  18. Ensure the safety of all patients and staff.
  19. Maintain regular, punctual attendance in accordance with policies and regulations.
  20. Maintain compliance with all relevant policies, guidelines, and education requirements.

Other Related Functions

  1. Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment.
  2. Keep work areas well-stocked and organized.
  3. Provide patient transport as needed.
Qualifications

Education/Training

Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.

Licensure/Certification

Valid Certified Radiologic Technologist license by the State of Alabama if required.

Valid ARRT certification or NMTCB certification in CT.

Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
