Overview

Under the supervision of the radiologist, this position provides patients with various types of CT procedures.

Responsibilities

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (*Essential Functions)

  1. *Performs CT procedures.
  2. *Obtains guidance from the radiologist when an order appears unclear or inappropriate.
  3. *Obtains pertinent histories and explains exam results to the patient.
  4. *Procures results on Stat exams and calls results.
  5. Answers all phone calls and schedules special procedures.
  6. Maintains work area and equipment.
  7. Helps to train and orient new staff and students to job functions.
Qualifications

JOB SPECIFICATIONS (Minimum Requirements)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Proven venipuncture skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, interactive and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with doctors, nurses, technologists, and support staff.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a stressful environment.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, and the ability to work independently without specific supervision in a self-confident manner.
  • Must be professional, courteous, and must have a positive attitude.

EDUCATION

All post-high school education must have been obtained from a recognized College or University. Additional education may be substituted for experience requirements should the substitution not conflict with State or Board certification/license requirements.

  • Associates Degree in Radiology Required.

EXPERIENCE

  • Successful completion of a clinical rotation through a CT Program at an accredited college Required.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION

  • Active Indiana Radiologic Technologist License Required.
  • ARRT (CT) Computed Tomography Registration through The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Required.
  • ARRT (R) Radiography Registration through The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Required.
  • Certified Basic Life Saving Certification Required.
