Job description

An exciting opportunity to work within the Lung Cancer directorate at Wythenshawe hospital as a band 6 specialist nurse in the thoracic biopsy team.

Key details:

• Support a 5-day weekly biopsy service, assisting in CT and Ultrasound thoracic biopsies.
• Based initially in the North West Lung Centre, moving to a new modular building in summer 2025.
• Manage patients undergoing biopsies, assist in procedures, and handle post-procedure complications.
• Lead in the absence of senior staff and contribute to multidisciplinary team care and professional standards.

Role involves wearing a lead apron in the CT scanner room and undertaking nurse-led discharge procedures post-biopsy. The position is a 12-month secondment, 37.5 hours per week.
