Department Overview

The CT scanning department is equipped with 9 state-of-the-art CT scanners, supporting a wide range of referrers, including the level 1 Major Trauma centre, Vascular and Neuro intervention, Paediatric, Musculoskeletal, Cardiac, and Oncology services. We pride ourselves on our extensive clinical workload and expertise, delivering the full spectrum of CT examinations.

Role Responsibilities
  1. Work as part of a multidisciplinary team within the CT department to ensure efficient and safe patient flow for CT examinations.
  2. Organise CT lists and maintain patient flow, including liaising with wards for inpatients and managing referrals from A&E.
  3. Assist Radiographers and Radiologists during CT procedures.
  4. Cannulate patients and perform observation checks.
  5. Review the Radiology Information System regularly to monitor CT attendance, especially for A&E and inpatient referrals.
Candidate Requirements
  • Previous NHS experience in a busy, well-organised CT department.
  • Mathematics and English Level 2 qualifications.
  • Interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
  • IT literacy.
  • Ability to work shifts, including long days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
  • Proactive, dynamic, and committed to high-quality service delivery.
  • Ability to remain calm and organised during busy periods.
