A leading NHS hospital seeks a seasoned CT Radiographer to manage and oversee their Cardiac CT service. This role involves operational leadership, coordination with staff, and participation in governance to maintain high-quality standards in patient imaging services.
Job summary
The Radiology department is fully equipped, boasting 4 scanners (including a recently installed Cardiac CT scanner, two 128-slice Siemens CT scanners, and a Canon scanner), digital screening & fluoroscopy rooms, a SPECT CT, and modern ultrasound machines. Additionally, we utilize regular on-site CT and MRI vans/static scanners to handle extra workload.
This presents an excellent opportunity for a seasoned CT Radiographer with NHS experience who is eager to advance their career in operational management and engage with cutting-edge equipment. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the Radiographer Led Cardiac CT service, responsible for its implementation and ongoing management.

Main duties of the job
The appointee will manage and lead the Cardiac CT service, including organizing workload and staffing, with a focus on establishing and maintaining a radiographer-led service. Ensuring operational standards are met to deliver an effective service is essential. Effective communication with modality superintendents is crucial to manage staffing levels, ensuring a safe, efficient, and responsive service.
The role also involves active participation in departmental governance, particularly regarding image quality, legislation related to ionising radiation, risk management, health & safety, and audit activities within the cardiac service scope.
Maintaining the CT cardiac service with staff training, comprehensive competency assessments, and resource optimization is vital. Managing Cardiac protocols in collaboration with specialty radiologists and cardiologists to adapt to new imaging techniques is also key.
