As a Social Worker within the Children Looked After and Leaving Care Service, you will provide support and interventions for children and care leavers. You will work in foster homes, residential and semi-independent placements, completing direct work with children, young people, and their families. You will make assessments, develop care plans, and work with the professional network to achieve outcomes. You will provide both direct and indirect support.

Sutton’s Children Looked After and Leaving Care Team handles care planning to ensure permanency and help children transition into independence while remaining safe. Located at The Quad, the team promotes a pioneering approach around contextual safeguarding and innovative practices with adolescents. We foster a supportive, restorative environment and lead projects involving young people and local organizations.
About You
Candidates should have a social work qualification, completed their AYSE, and hold current registration with Social Work England. Excellent report writing and communication skills are required, along with experience working with vulnerable children and knowledge of relevant legislation (Children’s Act, Leaving Care Act, Social Care Act). Cultural sensitivity, safeguarding awareness, understanding of youth development, and a valid driving license are essential.
