Job description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Southwark to assist with the appointment of a CSW Social Worker, on a 2-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £26.55 - £36.51 per Hour

Summary:

This is a specialist role supporting individuals who experience substance and/or alcohol misuse alongside complex health and social care needs. You'll work directly with adults in recovery or struggling to access mainstream services, using strengths-based and person-centred approaches to drive meaningful outcomes and promote wellbeing.

Responsibilities:

• Undertake holistic assessments of adults with substance misuse issues, identifying care and support needs.
• Develop, implement, and review tailored care plans that enhance independence, recovery, and wellbeing.
• Engage hard-to-reach individuals and provide outreach support where needed.
• Support service users post-rehabilitation to address any outstanding social care needs.
• Collaborate with partners across adult social care, mental health, housing, and substance misuse services.

Qualifications:

• A Professional Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England.

Experience Required:

• Experience working with adults affected by substance misuse or alcohol dependency.
• Knowledge of harm reduction, motivational interviewing, and relapse prevention (Desirable).
• Experience in safeguarding vulnerable adults and managing risk.
• Proven ability to engage with service users who may be difficult to reach.
• Demonstrated experience working across multiple professional boundaries.
