We're looking for a Sterile Services Technician to join our CSSD team based at The Lister Hospital. This role is vital in providing a high quality comprehensive sterilisation service of sterile instrument sets and singularly packed instruments for the treatment of patients in theatres and departments.

What you'll do:

  • Receipt of used medical devices in the decontamination area from all users of the service
  • Basic testing of equipment
  • Ensure all tools used in the Decontamination area are functioning and report faulty equipment
  • Ensure availability of cleaning equipment and correct level of detergents in the washer disinfector machines
  • Understand the Inspection, Assemble and processing of reusable medical devices
  • Assist in assuring adequate sterile supplies are available
  • Store sterile/decontaminated articles in the correct manner
  • Maintain correct records, file in the correct folder and provide information as required

What you'll bring:
  • Experience working in a sterile services department
  • Knowledge of relevant hospital policies and procedures either within the NHS or private hospital setting
  • Health and Safety training including Lifting and Handling training
  • A real team player who has excellent communication, attention to detail and the ability to recognise and report faults in equipment
