Job summary

Barclays is seeking a Cryptography Operations Technician based in Knutsford to monitor and maintain critical cryptographic infrastructure. You will join a global Cryptography team within the CIO, providing Secure Key Management, HSM, PKI, and related services to Barclays Group.

The role supports 24/7 operations with 9–5 UK hours and occasional on-call; weekend coverage may be scheduled. You will engage in risk mitigation, governance, and ongoing cryptographic delivery across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Strong incident, problem and change management experience in regulated environments.
• Proven experience leading and coordinating Major Incidents (MIM).
• Background in IT infrastructure, service management and monitoring.
• Unix/Windows operating systems knowledge.
• Knowledge of cryptography and information security concepts.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor cryptographic assets to protect confidentiality, integrity and availability.
• Provide BAU support and on-call coverage for 24/7 cryptography operations.
• Implement and monitor cryptographic solutions across banking applications.
• Develop training content and technical documentation for cryptography procedures.
• Manage incident/problem/change/vulnerability processes for cryptography services.
• Present complex cryptography concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
