Job summary

Portofino Technologies in London is seeking a experienced Quantitative Trader to design, run, and optimise systematic crypto trading strategies. You will be at the centre of the core business, managing algorithmic trading and contributing to strategic research on live markets.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience across the full workflow from idea generation to production, with exposure to short-term strategies, risk monitoring, and automated systems.

Qualifications

• Degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Quantitative Finance
• Experience developing software systems in an object-oriented language is a plus
• Python/R/MatLab, highly skilled in one of these. Expert coding skills in Python will be highly preferred
• Database applications, intermediate (SQL, KDB)

Responsibilities

• Analyse performance of market-making operation and issue recommendations for model adjustments and new models development
• Manage trading operations, define and track key metrics
• Debug real time operational issues within a highly complex and automated trading systems
• Back testing and production performance monitoring
• Contribute to in-house data analysis packages and research framework development
• Development of automation tools to improve trading processes
• Statistical analysis and machine learning to generate alpha signals for trading strategies Back-test hypotheses, build predictive models, and produce systematic strategies
