Job summary

Richard James Recruitment Specialists Ltd is seeking a seasoned logistics professional for an international energy company’s marine operations in the UK. The role focuses on scheduling and optimizing the movement of crude and refined products across multiple origins and destinations.

The candidate will analyze costs, manage data in internal systems, maintain cargo tracking, and collaborate with Intercompany departments to improve asset utilisation and commercial performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
  • 2–10 years marine transportation experience required.
  • Thorough knowledge of oil industry operations and standard practices.
  • Understanding of demurrage and its commercial impact.
  • Strong cost analysis and presentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and manage movement of crude and/or refined products, including multiple origins/destinations.
  • Enter and maintain data into internal systems; collaborate with Intercompany Departments as required.
  • Maintain cargo tracking and inventory spreadsheets/systems.
  • Analyze logistics for efficiencies and commercial opportunities to optimise asset utilisation.
  • Use network to identify new strategic relationships and business opportunities.
  • Optimise voyages, berthing schedules and minimise costs including dead freight and vessel costs.
