Role Summary

SMBC operates private and public banking and capital markets businesses. The firm is undergoing significant transformation, expanding its products and customer base, with technological improvements. SMBC uses internal and external trade and transaction reporting monitoring to identify issues, managed by a dedicated Operations and IT TTR team. This role ensures the ongoing fitness of the firm’s trade and transaction reporting functions. The TTR IT team comprises engineering professionals and is part of a wider Cross-Product IT organization.

Position Description

The Trade and Transaction Reporting (TTR) IT Delivery Lead will:

  • Lead product analysts, engineers, developers, and support professionals across SMBC IT teams and third-party vendors delivering solutions for MiFIR/MiFID II, EMIR/EMIR Refit, and SFTR transaction reporting and transparency requirements.
  • Ensure TTR IT staff are optimally allocated between project and BAU delivery.
  • Consult with Front Office, Operations, Compliance, and IT teams on all aspects of transaction reporting to ensure effective change delivery.
  • Perform detailed data analysis, identify reporting issues, and support root-cause analysis.
  • Mentor team members in transaction reporting requirements, business analysis, data analysis, and delivery management.
  • Ensure team processes are followed and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Maintain and ensure the accuracy of the product backlog for the TTR Pro.
