Shift Engineer - Client Direct - Critical Data Centre - Hemel Hempstead - £58,816
A fantastic opportunity to work in-house at a critical data centre located in Hemel Hempstead. We are seeking a Shift Engineer with electrical bias and extensive building maintenance experience, preferably within a critical environment. The successful candidate will be based at the data centre, with a competitive salary of £58,816 including basic pay, shift allowance, and bonus.
Key duties & responsibilities
- Ensure that Planned Preventative Maintenance & Reactive maintenance are carried out on all client assets through the operation of the Planned Preventative Maintenance System.
- Keep accurate and comprehensive records related to Health & Safety, Building Compliance, and Quality Assurance.
- Plan, manage, and deliver Facilities Maintenance services to the Data Centre, maintaining operational performance to the highest standards.
- Supervise sub-contractors to ensure contract requirements are met, including approving work and ensuring safe operation during repairs or services.
- Promptly address plant faults and defects to keep equipment in operational condition.
- Maintain a stock of suitable spare parts for plant maintenance.
- Complete comprehensive maintenance records via job sheets.
- Prepare, review, and utilize Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all tasks to ensure safe working practices.
- Assign and complete tasks efficiently, utilizing shift engineers as needed.

- Continental days & nights shift
- 07:00 - 19:00, 19:00 - 07:00

Requirements
- Electrically qualified
- City & Guilds - Level 3
- Knowledge of critical infrastructure
- Proven track record in building maintenance
- Good communication skills
- Multi-skilled in mechanical and electrical disciplines
- Strong leadership and management skills
